Surprise...All Black Everything!!

What an exciting event we were fortunate to coordinate! A surprise 40th birthday, planned to perfection by Stems at the Palatine with a very loving wife.  We had fun decorating in a Rockband-Racecar theme, and of course - All black everything!

Imagine this.... 200 people standing behind a gated entrance. A tired man, just arriving home from the airport. He drove up, gates opened, lights flipped on and SURPRIIIIISE!! He was shocked...It was an awesome moment!

As he made his way into the party, he had a property filled with all of his dearest family & friends, and was in for an onslaught of even more surprise!  Food Trucks including Dusty Buns Bistro, A Taco Truck & Rallys were serving up delicious food all through the evening.  His favorite band played into the wee hours of the morning while friends danced, with one even serenading him with a live performance.  And to cap the evening... his gorgeous wife popped out of a life-size cake!

I've never seen two people with a family more in love  - it was heart warming <3.

Rustic Baby Shower for Little Kruz!

Uptown elegance meets native & natural at Baby Kruz' celebration. RSVP introduced the style of this fabulous celebration with custom designed invitations. With an owl theme and rustic elements drawn from the table decor to the flower arrangements, this mommy-to-be had a HOOT of a time!

Stems at the Palatine emulated an outdoor feel by bringing in manzanita branches and adding leaves, branches & tree stumps as table runners over the peridot table linens.

Surprise 50th Birthday Bash

Surpriiiiiise Doc!!  Who doesn't love a surprise?  This lucky gent had his leading lady plan this fabulous surprise celebration in honor of his 50th birthday.  Although it wasn't difficult to lure him to Slates Restaurant, she told a little white lie about a wine dinner she'd like to attend... 

The private room was bountifully draped in tropical flowers. Some of our favorite features of this event:  the incandescent lighting in the dining room, specialty black crushed table linens with large purple chargers which resembled a tropical flower, leather heart paperweights {a gift paying homage to his profession of a heart surgeon} and, of course, his fabulous birthday cake!

B is for: Blissful, Baby Shower, Brunch & BOY!

Breakfast in the Garden was the perfect setting for this family celebration. In the comfort of their home, this mommy-to-be was showered with love!  Considering "Daddy's" love of sports, this celebration was a whimsical blend of game time & baby time...

The table decor had a rustic touch with the blue denim linens & burlap table runners while the parasols in the french flower tins tied into the garden venue.  Also notice the cute vases suspended from the black chivarri chairs - these were special herbs for the baby shower favor {intended to be planted & grown, like the baby boy on the way}!  The flower arrangements added the perfect pop of color to the tables, buffet & home decor.

In the perfect setting, with the perfect people, you ask what else could possibly put this event over-the-top? Well, the menu, of course!  This decadent buffet was all home-made by the Mom and sisters of the guest of honor - I don't know about you, but my mouth waters when I peruse these pictures!  Everything from lox pops and bagels, to strawberry crepes, chocolate chip coffee cake, banana foster french toast, cucumber Mediterranean salads, crab tartlets, caesar & caprese salads.... need I say more?
